Toe - The Book About My Idle Plot On A Vague Anxiety

toe is a Japanese music group that formed in 2000. While mentioned in many circles, their song structure and dynamics are similar to many popular math rock artists. The vast majority of the music is instrumental and features the swift and acute drumming of Takashi. The band has changed their sound over their musical tenure by incorporating acoustic guitars, Rhodes piano, and vibraphones in their most recent releases.

The band started performing live in July 2001, a few times a month at nightclubs. They began recording their debut EP “Songs, Ideas We Forgot” in February 2002, and released it two months later on April 17th of the same year. In July 2003 toe released a split CD EP with Pele through an independent label, Muziq, and the following September the band released a remix album Re:Designed.
In April 2004 toe contributed a song to the MOTOWN tribute CD, “ROCK MOTOWN” and the following June the Pele/toe split was released on vinyl through Polyvinyl Records. In April 2005 the band began recording their first album. Four months later on August 31st, toe’s anticipated debut album “The Book About My Idle Plot on a Vague Anxiety” was released.

Enemies - Alpha Waves

Enemies formed in the summer of 2007 in the village of Kilcoole, County Wicklow, Ireland which has been a epicentre for DIY independent music in Ireland over the last few years with bands like Adebisi Shank, Kidd Blunt and Heathers first forging their sound in the area.

In Spring 2008, encouraged by that burgeoning local scene, Enemies released their debut EP ‘Alpha Waves’ which led to two Japanese labels Machu Picchu Industries and stiff slack picking up the band for releases. A two-week tour of Japan followed in which they played sold-out shows in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Kyoto.

Back closer to home, the band played gigs in the UK and Ireland on bills with bands like And So I Watch You From Afar, Bats, Not Squares, Marvins Revolt and Blakfish. The quartet followed their debut EP with a free double-A side single.

In June 2010, Enemies released their debut LP. Released by Richter Collective in the UK & Ireland and Stiff Slack in Japan, ‘We’ve Been Talking’ features pressings of the band’s own unique take on instrumental rock, one which is nuanced yet clear cut, melodic yet ferocious and energetic yet emotive.

The Littlest Viking - Labor & Lust

The Littlest Viking are a guitar/drums duo based out of San Pedro, CA. They play (mostly) instrumental prog/punk to put it simply. Tamborines, outrageous drum fills, wicked tapping, hoarse shouting, noise freakouts, salsa beats and the occasional Prince sample are a staple of any TLV live show.

Piglet - Lava Land

A three-piece instrumental band from Chicago.
there last FM description was pretty lame.

"instrumental indie rock that promises not to disappoint. The opening track, “Bug Stomp” pushes the listener right off the edge and into the deep end, drowning them under lightning fast guitar and bass work and a heavy rhythm section. Later, tracks like “Caramel” and “Pangea Reunion” display the band’s versatility, touching on minor progressions and weaving in and out of genres."

is just a taste of the write up.

all i think needs to be said is if you like noodles. get this album.
